Live-Action Fullmetal Alchemist Movie Reveals CG Alphonse, December 1 Opening

The official website of the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist just revealed the film's December 1 opening date on Thursday. In addition, the site also released a new image featuring of Alphonse Elric in full CG. According to the Comic Natalie site, the CG Alphonse uses techniques for the first time in Japanese movie industry.

The film is being directed by Fumihiko Sori (live-action Ping Pong), and stars Ryosuke Yamada as Edward Elric, Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang, and Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell.

The live-action version tells the story of Hiromu Arakawa's manga/anime story in one complete film. Ed is being aged up to 20-years-old in the film; he was 15 in the manga.

Synopsis:

In an alchemical ritual gone wrong, Edward Elric lost his arm and his leg, and his brother Alphonse became nothing but a soul in a suit of armor. Equipped with mechanical "auto-mail" limbs, Edward becomes a state alchemist, seeking the one thing that can restore his and his brother's bodies...the legendary Philosopher's Stone
