Lilly Collins In Talks To Star In Biopic About J.R.R. Tolkien

J.R.R. Tolkien is the man behind the world of Lord of the Rings, and it's no surprise that a movie about his life was eventually going to be made. Nicholas Hoult is currently attached to play a young Tolkien, and news has it that Lily Collins is now in talks to be in the movie as well.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Collins is being considered to play Tolkien's wife Edith, who served as inspiration for the gracious and nature-loving elves. Another member of the cast includes Anthony Boyle, who plays Scorpius Malfoy in the theater play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

There are no details on who Boyle is playing in the film, but I'm guessing he's going to be one of Tolkien's friends in his school or maybe even one of his war buddies when he goes off to serve the British armed forces.

The movie is said to follow Tolkien at the beginning of World War I; we will get to watch a young orphan Tolkien fall in love and discover friendships, all which inspire him to make the epic fantasy Bible that is The Lord of the Rings books.

The movie is being directed by Dome Karukoski with a script coming from David Gleeson and Stephen Berestford. No official release date has been announced for the film.
