Lego Ninjago Movie Featurette: The Action Was Based On Actual Fight Choreography From Jackie Chan

I'll be honest, the Lego Ninjago Movie was not something that I thought I wanted to watch, but based on the marketing material for the movie, the film actually looks like loads of fun. As it turns out, the movie will actually have stunts based on actual kung fu, and Jackie Chan and his stunt team are handling all of the action in the film.

It's interesting how the movie goes so far as to have actual fight choreography even when the Legos don't move like actual human beings. With some pretty solid jokes and top notch animation, I didn't think the studio would have to go so far as to hire an actual stunt team to do some choreography. That's like something out of the production of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Here's the synopsis for the movie:

In this big-screen NINJAGO adventure, the battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, The Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd's dad.

Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their inner power of Spinjitzu.

The Lego Ninjago Movie hits theaters this coming Sept. 22.
