‘Legend of Tarzan’ IMAX Trailer Unleashes New Footage About The Origins Of The Lord Of The Apes

Warner Bros. Pictures and IMAX Corporation have unleashed another trailer for the forthcoming release of David Yates’ latest fantasy movie, The Legend of Tarzan. Aside from a host of stellar cast members like Alexander Skarsgård, Margot Robbie, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz and Djimon Hounsou, much of the anticipation comes from the fact that The Legend of Tarzan is Yates’ latest film following his blockbuster Harry Potter movies.

The new trailer features new footage showcasing Tarzan’s past – how he survived following his parents’ death and how he was raised by the apes. However, it’s worth noting that probably more than half of what we see in this new IMAX trailer features footage from previously released trailers here and here.

To be honest, I don’t find the new trailer particularly riveting. Not all of the footage appear visually stunning, and it is concerning for a movie of such a scale since the movie relies on special effects for the most part. Good thing we see more of Samuel L. Jackson’s character in there, who seem to be Tarzan’s ally in saving his wife and the rest of the city from a villainous Christoph Waltz.

Clearly, we haven’t seen everything yet of The Legend of Tarzan with this new trailer. Let’s just hope we’ll get to see something better than the footage featured here. After seeing Planet of the Apes, we know they could do better with the apes.

Movie Synopsis:

It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Margot Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.

Legend of Tarzan hits theaters on July 1.
