Jessica Jones is arguably one of the best Marvel Netflix shows, and after appearance in The Defenders, Krysten Ritter will be returning as the foul-mouthed super-powered PI in the second season of Jessica Jones. With Kilgrave down for the count, however, what direction is season two going to move in?

Talking to Bustle, Krysten Ritter explains:

"The first season was in her head and the second season is in her heart…The writers have dug even deeper and made it feel just as big and just as impactful, just as personal."

Some set photos have been leaked which show David Tennant's Kilgrave walking alongside Jessica and her neighbor Malcolm, and some guess that even though Kilgrave is gone, everyone is still being affected by what he did in the first season. Ritter continues:

"Even in the source material, so much stuff has happened to her. You feel for her … Every time, you're just like, ‘Ugh, she's been through so much.' Yet she still fights. Which is what we love about her."

Though you can argue that Daredevil has the best action, Jessica Jones is definitely a series that delves into darker territories, with some people realizing that the show is one elaborate metaphor for sexual assault. Sure a person like Kilgrave can't exist in the real world, but the way he affects people and how they try to escape him is something that legitimate victims of sexual abuse have experienced themselves.

There hasn't been a specific release date for season two of Jessica Jones, but you can definitely catch her on The Defenders on Netflix.
