Kong: Skull Island Gets Post-Credit Scene To Build Up MonsterVerse

It looks like Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse is featuring a post-credit scene for Kong: Skull Island, the King Kong reboot which hits cinemas this year.

Kellvin Chavez the editor in chief of Splash Report revealed on Twitter today right after attending a Kong: Skull Island screening that the film had a post-credit scene for fans to see. Calling out to fans, Chavez asks viewers to stay put for the credits so they get to see the extra scene, saying that it will definitely " not disappoint."

Though adding in post-credit footage into films is an old Hollywood tactic that's been around way before superhero movies became a yearly spectacle, the style of featuring post and mid-credit scenes has been made popular by Marvel Studios which used the tactic to help build the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Inserting footage in between and after a credit sequence is a pretty good way to tease what's to come in a film franchise ad now, it looks like Legendary will be following the same style as it builds up its MonsterVerse. Kong fans better stay in their seats for the extra footage when the film makes its big debut in the following weeks.

Kong: Skull Island premieres on March 10 this year.
