Kingsman: The Golden Circle Gets New Teaser Poster And Synopsis

Kingsman: The Secret Service turned out to be one successful movie for Fox, and the sequel is set to come out sometime later this year. Fox has just released a new teaser poster for the film, and a new synopsis gives us an overall idea of what to expect from the plot.

Before we get on to the poster, I'd like to go through the synopsis first, so we can dissect the poster afterwards. Here's the synopsis:

Kingsman: The Secret Service introduced the world to Kingsman - an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In "Kingsman: The Golden Circle," our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents' strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that's becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy...

Now let's have a look at the poster:

Upon initial viewing, I thought that the poster featured the resurrected Harry Hart (Colin Firth) and his successor Eggsy (Taron Egerton); after I read the synopsis, however, I was starting to think that the person on the right would be an American agent from Statesmen. Granted that the movie will be pitting the two agencies against each other, it would only make sense that the teaser is making some sort of comparison between the gentlemanly proper Kingsman to (what I assume to be) the rougher and gruffer Statesmen.

The movie has Matthew Vaughn returning to the director's chair, and boasts and all-star cast including Julianne Moore, Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, and Elton John.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle comes out on Sept. 29, 2017.
