Kingsman Actor Taron Egerton Responds To Marvel Wolverine Rumors

It might be hard to imagine anyone else playing Wolverine aside from Hugh Jackman, but now that the X-Men actor's officially retired from his role as James Howlett, fans have been considering different actors that could potentially take his place as Logan. One of the names that have constantly been thrown around is the name of Kingsman and Rocketman actor Taron Egerton.

There have been a number of rumors going around saying that Egerton would be taking on Jackman's role. Now, it looks like the Welsh actor has finally decided to address the stories about his potential as Marvel's new Wolverine.

Speaking with fans at ACE Comic Con in Chicago last weekend (via ComicBook.com), Egerton opened up about the rumors, admitting that while he thinks that Wolverine is an interesting character, he never felt like the character at all.

"I think that I love those films and I've got lots of friends who play roles in those films and they love it and they have a great time... I don't know," said Egerton. "I think the Logan thing is really interesting. I'm slightly baffled by it, I've never felt like a Wolverine sort of guy."

Egerton doesn't really feel like he physically matches up to the role. However, the actor would love to have the chance to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"I think that one's a few years away," Egerton explained. "I know that Kevin [Feige's] spoken about it being a few years away. Maybe in a few years, I'll look rough enough for it. I've made no secret of the fact that I'm a fan of those fans and of course I would, I would love to be a part of them."

Marvel may not have any plans to bring the X-Men into the MCU right now, but we're sure that the studio is thinking of setting up the mutants in the franchise. It'll take some time considering how compact Marvel's timeline is right now, but we're certain the studio will find a logical way to bring in the mutants into the MCU.
