Kingdom Hearts Dark Road Announced for Mobile Devices

The first new Kingdom Hearts game post-Kingdom Hearts 3 has been announced but it's not what most of us expected. Square Enix has announced a new mobile game called Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road, which will detail the origin of long-time series villain Xehanort. Going with a story like this is going to intrigue a lot of people, though a lot of us are probably wondering why it's not a PS4 game since Kingdom Hearts and Sony consoles just go together.

Aside from a very short teaser trailer and the fact that Xehanort is the focus, very little is known about the Kingdom Hearts mobile game. Gematsu claims that it will be a free-to-play mobile game with in-app purchases which isn't surprising at all since this is Square Enix. They do this with almost all of their mobile games. In fact, almost every mobile game is like this.

Hot off the heels of Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:MIND, you can bet that a lot of fans are gonna want to check this out. While the writing for these games has never been good, Xehanort is a bit interesting as we do want to see how he decided to become "evil." We say that because his goals are semi-noble, even if they resulted in the deaths of many characters.

No release date for Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road has been announced. Kingdom Hearts 3 is out now on PS4 and Xbox One. More information will be revealed next month.
