Kevin Feige Worries That Avengers 4’s Title Won’t Meet Fans' High Expectations

It looks like Marvel fans busy guessing the secret title of Avengers 4 actually might be better off if they stop expecting too much from the Infinity War sequel's real name.

Sitting down to speak with IGN during a press junket for Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige worries that the whole hype surrounding the title for Avengers 4 might have become too much to handle.

"It's gotten entirely out of hand, and now will have no chance of living up to any expectations of what it's gonna be," Feige told the publication.

Though the movie originally named Infinity War Part 2 a few years ago, Marvel told fans that the film would have a different title because the comic book movie didn't feel entirely like the second part to Infinity War. Marvel has been keeping Avengers 4's title a secret, telling fans that the name would spoil the first installment in its two-part Avengers movie.

"It sort of backfired, if I'm honest with you," Feige elaborated further, "because the notion was to not talk about it so the focus was to be on [Infinity War]."

It also didn't help that during the marketing campaign for Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo also warned the Marvel fanbase to be scared of the title of Avengers 4.

Now, though the title might seem to have a heavy meaning, fans shouldn't expect too much from Avengers 4's actual name. Though the title for Avengers 4 would hold much significance, the actual title of the Infinity War sequel might not be as mind-blowing as everyone thinks it is.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres April 27.
