It's been almost 10 years since the release of The Incredible Hulk, and that movie gave us classic Hulk villain the Abomination as well as a teaser for The Leader played by Tim Blake Nelson. As it turns out, they still have their place in the MCU, and Marvel president Kevin Feige tells us where they are.
When asked about old Hulk villains by Crave Online, Feige explains:
"It's come up. It's come up. Just finding the right place. And as I said, if you can't do it right, don't do it or do it later, and the notion of ‘Hey, I'm here too! Next!' is not interesting to us. Abomination is in a prison somewhere too.'"
The Avengers prequel comic Fury's Big Week showed to us that Natasha Romanoff was responsible for taking in a half-mutated Samuel Sterns after he was infected with Bruce Banner's blood. We haven't heard from him since then, but with Thunderbolt Ross coming back in Civil War, it would be cool to see some classic Hulk villains make it back onscreen.
It's been teased that Thor: Ragnarok will be the beginning of a three-arc film for the Hulk. With that in mind, I can imagine Samuel Sterns making a small appearance in any of the future MCU movies. Maybe he can be brought in as an asset to try and fight Thanos? Maybe Thanos helps him escape so he can thwart the Hulk? Anything's possible.
Though we don't know when or if Sterns will be returning to the MCU, we can sure catch the Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok which is now out in theaters.
