Warning: This article contains spoilers for Thor: Ragnarok.

Those who've already seen Taika Waititi's well-received superhero space buddy movie know that at the very end of Thor: Ragnarok, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) manage to round up the Asgardian people on a ship far, far away from the crumbling Asgard. A sense of calm settles around everyone as Thor and his people set out for Earth, that is until a large ship looms over the horizon.

Now, speaking with The Wrap to help promote Marvel's final film of the year, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirms that the ship standing between the Asgardians and Earth really belongs to Thanos.

"We call it the Sanctuary II," Feige told the publication.

The studio executive did tell fans earlier this year that Ragnarok would set things up for Avengers: Infinity War, saying that the film would end minutes before the start of the first installment in the two-part Avengers movie.

Now, it seems like one can only wonder whether the Asgardians make it out alive after their contact with Thanos. The fate of Thor's people had been darkened by the arrival of Hela, but meeting Thanos in their voyage to Earth? Now, that's just really, really bad luck.

Thor: Ragnarok premieres in US cinemas today, November 3, 2017. Avengers: Infinity War, on the other hand, hits cinemas May 4, 2018.
