Kaldheim Spoilers Reveal Egon, God of Death & More Magic: The Gathering Mythic Rares

The upcoming Norse mythology-inspired Magic: The Gathering set, Kaldheim, will introduce MDFC (modal double-faced cards) that feature a god on one side, and a legendary artifact or another legendary type on the back. We've already seen the mythic rare god MDFCs, but there are also rare ones featured in the upcoming expansion, and one of them was revealed recently: Egon, God of Death // Throne of Death.

Check out the new god MDFC:

The god side of this MDFC looks very reliant on having enough cards in the graveyard to exile but with the right cards to support it, you can play this 6/6 Deathtouch god by turn three easily. The Equipment side looks could potentially be a strong sideboard card against Control strategies, and allowing you to mill a card can also help you pull off graveyard Dredge-like strategies.

A couple of mythic rare cards from Kaldheim have also been revealed recently, and they feature demons and angels. The mythic rares are Burning-Rune Demon and Starnheim Unleashed:

Burning-Rune Demon looks like a Limited bomb, but it's probably not viable in Standard Constructed.

Starnheim Unleashed is also a strong Limited bomb that can potentially create multiple 4/4 Angel tokens if you Foretell it, but I also don't think this will see Standard Constructed play.
