Though the DC Extended Universe had a weak start last year with the divisive Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and the messy spin-off Suicide Squad, fans are hoping that Warner Bros. DC film franchise can get back on its feet with Gal Gadot's solo Wonder Woman and Zack Snyder's Justice League.
Now, new reports reveal that Justice League just might be able to help the DCEU back up. Speaking in an interview with Heroic Hollywood, Batman v Superman second unit of director Damon Caro assures fans that Justice League will definitely be worth the watch, comparing the tone to the turn-around from the Star Wars original trilogy.
"The great stories, the Greek tragedies, even life we have to be knocked down before we can build our way up. Justice League was always the rebirth of hope and the rise," Caro explained. "People try to say that it's a response to the backlash, and I'd definitely say that criticisms were heard, but it's not like we threw everything out and started with a blank slate. It's a bit like Star Wars. Empire Strikes Back? Dark movie! But then Return of the Jedi is the rise and the rebuilding of hope."
It's good to hear that Snyder and the rest of the Justice League production team have been listening to fan's comments on Batman v. Superman. From what Caro's said, it seems like DC's learning from its mistakes with the DCEU now headed in the right direction.
Justice League makes its cinematic debut on November 17 this year.
