Justice League: Jason Momoa Talks Aquaman's Look And Personality For The Movie

Aquaman has admittedly been the butt of the joke when it comes to the Justice League, but Zack Snyder plans to remarket the character as a total badass by casting Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry in the upcoming Justice League movie. Momoa talks about his version of Aquaman and the charcater's overall design and personality.

Talking to DC All Access (via Reddit), Momoa talks about the design choice to have Aquaman covered in tattoos and having the pale green eyes:

"Zack [director Zack Snyder] had the idea to put the tattoos everywhere and everyone wanted him to have a little bit of blonde in the hair… I just wanted him to have the Van Gogh green-colored eyes, where you can kind of get lost in them. You're scared by it, but you're drawn in. We put the contacts in, and I was like, wow. It's kind of scary, but hopefully not too scary."

As for Aquaman's personality, the trailers have been portraying him as sort of a loner, and he's the one that Bruce Wayne seems to be having most difficulty when it comes to recruitment. Momoa continues:

"There's a lot I could identify with because I was born in Hawaii and then raised in Iowa, which made me feel like an outcast… Aquaman's half and half. He was not accepted in Atlantis, but also doesn't fit in with the surface world So, he lives in those tides. He's very defiant and a loner until he meets the team and it becomes this little family."

With Momoa proving himself to be one hell of an intimidating actor, I'm not worried that his Aquaman will turn out to be such a wimp. The guy is Khal freakin' Drogo. If he can be a leader of the Dothraki, he could very well be ruler of Atlantis.

Justice League comes out Nov. 17.
