Justice League: Henry Cavill Acknowledges DCEU Faults, Praises Wonder Woman

With Justice League coming out soon, the stars from that film have shared some interesting thoughts about the DCEU. Most of the stars have been a bit defensive, whilst acknowledging how the previous DC themes didn't always mesh with everyone. However, none of them have been as blunt as Man of Steel star Henry Cavill, who shared some critical thoughts about some of the previous DC films.

Cavill told The Rake (via Comic Book) that "even if Marvel didn't exist, we'd struggle." During its early days, Warner Bros made sure the DC films were polar opposites of the ones seen in Marvel. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is the best example of this, being ridiculously dark, but also struggling to tell a coherent plot.

He elaborated even further, talking about the different styles Man of Steel and BvS took, admitting that they didn't always work. Though he admits that the films made money, they weren't critically acclaimed. While Man of Steel was at least decent, Batman V Superman was a hot mess that poorly juggled multiple storylines.

Like many others, he praised Wonder Woman, which managed to strike a balance between what people like from Marvel and DC movies. Though not flawless, there was a lot of heart and effort put into the superheroine's debut film. Cavill goes as far to say that Wonder Woman is the first step in a better direction for DC movies.

Though he died at the end of Batman v Superman, Cavill's Superman will be seen in Justice League. Fans can catch the film on November 17.
