Justice League: Danny Elfman Is Not Using Hans Zimmer's Theme For Batman

When Joss Whedon took over Justice League after Zack Snyder's departure, he brought along Danny Elfman to work on the music for the film, Hans Zimmer had made a new theme for Batman in Batman v Superman, but it looks like Elfman wants to stick to only one Batman theme—his own.

During an interview with Reporte Indigo (via Anton Volk), Zimmer says:

"You will not hear a new theme for Batman. You will hear Batman's theme for Batman. No. You'll hear Batman's theme. Batman has only had one theme. Hans has done some wonderful, driving, rhythmic stuff, but there's only ever been one theme—Batman's theme. "

Though the DCEU has had some memorable new themes for Wonder Woman and Superman, Batman's has sadly been left in the wayside. Elfman, however, has confirmed that he'll be using some of John Williams' classic Superman theme in the film, and though he says he'll be using his own theme for Batman, I have a feeling he's going to use it sparingly.

Though I admit that Elfman's theme for Batman is still memorable, I also liked the new theme from the Dark Knight trilogy. Sure the theme for Batfleck hasn't been considered memorable by some, but I have a feeling it's because it hasn't been given the proper "moment." I just thought it was what played whenever Batman was seriously hating on Superman.

Either way, we'll just have to wait and see how the soundtrack turns out in the movie. With Wonder Woman finally taking the DCEU out of its cinematic funk, hopefully Justice League follows its footsteps and becomes a huge success.

Catch Justice League in theaters Nov. 17.
