Jump Force Might Be a Living Game That Gets Constantly Updated

It can be rare for anime games to impress audience members at E3 but Jump Force did just that, thanks to its dazzling graphics. We will have to wait for the game to come out before we judge its gameplay, though it does look similar to the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm or Dragon Ball Xenoverse.

Turns out that Jump Force could be more similar to the latter since an interview revealed that this fighting game could be a live service that gets constant update and DLC.

When asked if by UnikrnJump Force would be a living game like Street Fighter V or Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, producer Koji Nakamura provided an interesting answer. Without giving spoilers for the game, he admitted that the developers want people to keep playing the game for a long time with plans for post-launch DLC.

"I can't give you too much detail on post-release plans yet, but our hope for the fans is that fans feel great about playing the game. We want to promote longevity, as well. We want players to be able to play the game for an extended period of time for the long run. To promote longevity and a longer lifespan, we're preparing a lot of content to bring you over time. We can't say what they are yet, but we will announce them closer to the game's release."

Admittedly, it's too early to assume that the game will be a live service like Xenoverse 2 but it wouldn't be too surprising if it were since this is being published by Bandai Namco. Only time will tell if the anime game will get constant support but it would be cool if this happened, just because more characters from Shonen Jump could appear.

Jump Force is slated for a 2019 release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
