Joss Whedon’s Reshoots For Justice League Reportedly More Extensive Than Expected

It looks like Justice League's reshoots might be extensive after all.

Though reshoots are generally a normal part of any blockbuster movie production, fans usually take reshoots as a sign of a weak film, and though Warner Bros. tried to convince fans that Joss Whedon would only "shepherd the movie through post and the shooting of some additional scenes," The Hollywood Reporter writes that the Batgirl director has actually doing a lot of reshoots on Justice League.

For those who aren't up to speed on the Justice League production, back in May Zack Snyder had decided to step down from Justice League to focus on his family while dealing with the loss of his daughter who had committed suicide earlier this year. The director thought that drowning himself in work could help him through his loss, but later decided to focus on his family instead.

Though Justice League had finished principal photography, there was still much to be done and so Snyder left everything else including the Justice League reshoots to Batgirl director Joss Whedon. Warner Bros. assured fans that Whedon would not make any significant changes to the movie, and while this new report doesn't specify the details of the reshoots, the word extensive already sparks anxiety.

The DC Extended Universe may be on a high after the unexpected success of Patty Jenkin's Wonder Woman, however the franchise has to further prove itself with Justice League. Unfortunately, it seems like the studio is suffering from another line of shake-ups – earlier this morning Warner Bros. confirmed that it was planning to transition Ben Affleck's Batman out of the DCEU after Justice League.

Could Affleck have been sick of Justice League as well? Let's hope not. We don't want another sadfleck meme on our hands.

Justice League premieres November 17, 2017.
