Joss Whedon Chose Justice League's Opening Song

When Everybody Knows played during the opening credits of Justice League, many assumed that was one of the Zack Snyder choices that made it to the final film. The dramatic slow-moving opening with Sigrid's cover of the song originally made by Leonard Cohen was a very Snyder-like move. Surprisingly, this isn't the case, as Joss Whedon recently revealed that he was the one who chose the song for the opener.

The New Yorker's Emily Nussbaum had tweeted out the lyrics to the song, which quickly got a response from the Buffy creator. Whedon claimed that he stuck it in JL, making many wonder what Snyder's original plan was. Perhaps he wanted to use the Cohen version or left it up to Whedon but at this point, it's pure speculation.

Perhaps this was Whedon's way of making the film more Zack Snyder-like since he is still listed as the film's director. Many of the film's actors had claimed that Snyder was planning on making the film lighter after Batman V Superman and that the film would still feel like his. That last part is debatable but it is nice seeing Whedon make the film more like a Snyder creation.

Justice League is currently showing in theaters.
