John Cena, one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time, has apparently joined the cast of Thor: Ragnarok, which is in part adapting the Planet Hulk storyline. Who is Cena playing? According to the IMDb page for the film, he's playing himself!

Fans are speculating that John Cena will make a cameo as himself in the gladiator arena. While no specific plot details have been released about Thor: Ragnarok, it's possible that we'll see Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster kidnap various "champions" from around the universe to compete in the arena, and since John Cena is a "great" champion, he gets selected for the gladiator arena. This could also explain how The Hulk was taken off from Earth since he would be considered a great champion as well.

Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi, and stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk/Banner, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Sam Neill in an unknown role. The film will hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
