Joel McHale And Sarah Hyland Joins Hulu’s 'Dimension 404' Cast

Joel McHale and Sarah Hyland are now part of Hulu's upcoming sci-fi anthology series, Dimension 404.

The show's executive producer, Freddie Wong, enthusiastically announced the two stars' inclusion in the cast via Twitter today:

According to Variety, McHale (Community,The Soup) will make his appearance in an episode which also stars Lea Michele and Robert Buckley. The 44-year-old comedian will play a character named Mr. Maker, the eccentric man who created a matchmaking service that is the reason for Michele and Buckley's characters' romance.

Meanwhile, Hyland (Modern Family) will appear in a different episode. She's set to play Claire, a high school student, who goes with her yet-to-cast uncle to experience a new dangerous and strange cinematic format called "Cinethrax."

Another actor previously announced to star in Dimension 404is Ryan Lee (Trophy Wife), who will portray Andrew, a closeted gay video game addict in the 1980s, where he will be engulfed in a new arcade game.

Created by Dez Dolly and Will Campos and co-created by Dan Johnson and David Welch, Dimension 404 features six standalone episodes that will explore the uninhabited and obscure corners of the internet.

Dimension 404 reminds me of the British TV series Black Mirror, which also comprises stand-alone dramas featuring suspenseful tales set in an advanced world where people are driven into insanity by technology. In the case of Dimension 404, it's just more focused on the internet. In any case, this series looks promising, and I'm quite interested to see it.
