J.J. Abrams Reveals Star Wars: The Force Awakens Runtime

During Disney's D23 Expo, director J.J. Abrams revealed the runtime for Star Wars: The Force Awakens: 2 hours and 4 minutes. That's the same runtime as the franchise's most beloved film, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

  • Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace Runtime: 136 min
  • Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones Runtime: 142 min
  • Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith Runtime: 140 min
  • Star Wars IV: A New Hope Runtime: 121 min
  • Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back Runtime: 124 min
  • Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi" Runtime: 134 min

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released in theaters on December 18.
