The absence of Luke Skywalker in the

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

trailers and promotional images continue to mystify fans. Even after

Mark Hamill dropped hints

about his character's whereabouts, we still don't know what he's up to in the film.

Director J.J. Abrams was a guest at the

Howard Stern show

to talk about

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

, and when he was asked why he's purposely not showing Luke Skywalker in the trailers, "I really want to make sure we're not ruining the movie for the people. I hate when I go see a trailer and I felt like I've seen the whole movie in encapsulated form... I rather be asking questions than feel like they've been answered for me."

And when asked why there's a controversy of casting a Black guy as a Stormtrooper in the film, Abrams just said that John Boyega is "extraordinary in the movie".
