J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Production Releases A Surprise '10 Cloverfield Lane' Trailer'

If you've watched Michael Bay's 13 Hours in theaters, chances are you've seen J.J. Abrams' surprise trailer for a film called 10 Cloverfield Lane

It's been eight years since the release of the monster movie Cloverfield, and I know a bunch of fans have been waiting for this. The film, which stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Goodman, appears to be a sequel to the original which was directed by Matt Reeves and written by Drew Goddard.

It seems that the plot takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where the parasites have taken over.

It looks like they're aiming for a March 11, 2016 release.

UPDATED: Paramount sent along the following statement from JJ Abrams about the film:

“The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.”

Do you remember that the original Cloverfield trailer played in front of Michael Bay's Transformers?
