Jared Leto In Negotiations With Sony To Star In Bloodshot Film Adaptation

After starring in the DC Extended Universe as the Suicide Squad's underused Joker, it seems like Jared Leto's in talks with Sony to take the lead role in the studio's live-action adaptation of Valiant Comics' Bloodshot.

According to the report by Deadline, Sony is currently working out a deal with Leto to star in its Bloodshot film adaptation as the protagonist Angelo Mortalli. Set to be produced by Neal Moritz, the project is under the direction of Dave Wilson who is partnered along with Deadpool director, Tim Miller.

For those who aren't that familiar with Bloodshot, Angelo Mortalli is a former mobster who gets framed for murder. Once he gets into the Witness Protection program, the character finds himself betrayed and forced into an experimental program which has his brain removed and his body injected with nanites. Through the experiment Mortalli gains healing power and superhuman strength.

Starring in a number of science fiction, fantasy and comicbook films, Leto would take to the role quite easily. Though fans and critics didn't quite enjoy the Thirty Seconds To Mars vocalist's rendition of Suicide Squad's Joker, Leto gained quite a reputation for his intensity on set and some felt that viewers would have liked the DCEU Joker if he had been given more screentime in the movie.

Bloodshot doesn't have a release date just yet, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
