James Woods Thinks Captain Marvel Hates White Men

In a bit of baffling news, James Woods has publicly declared that he will be boycotting this month's CaptainMarvel. The veteran actor seems to believe that this movie has no place for white men and has told fans to watch something else like Alita: Battle Angel. While it's doubtful that others will follow (we all want to know why she was inactive for a long time), the mentality behind this movement is worrisome.

Woods was replying to a fan who stated that "white men haters" were not welcome to the movie, which led to the actor saying that he would gladly sit it out. Seems like Woods only paid attention to the "white men" part instead of "haters," but it seems like he is leaning towards that direction, which is a bit of a shame.

He then used the popular distracted boyfriend meme to tell fans to ignore Captain Marvel and watch Alita, claiming that they shouldn't support studios that hate half of their audience. This is even odder since most of Marvel's movies star white men, with Black Panther and Captain Marvel being the only exceptions. How can a studio hate a race that they made so much money from?

Apparently, all of this controversy is coming from Brie Larson speaking up about wanting more diverse audiences to check the film out, which led a lot of people to believe that she was saying white people were not welcome. She then clarified that she didn't want to take their seats away, rather she wants more seats to be added for others.

Seems like people are destined to either love or hate this movie no matter what. Unlike Ghostbusters (2016), this will probably make money and be watchable.

Captain Marvel comes out on March 9.
