Before he was fired by Disney and Marvel from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn was hyping up a horror movie he was involved in. This film was supposed to be revealed in SDCC 2018 but the news broke about those years-old tweets and Gunn was pulled from the show. While Marvel and Disney might not want him back, Sony is still planning to release their movie that Gunn was involved in.
Sony confirmed to Screen Rant that the untitled horror movie would be coming out in November but not anything else. No one knows what the untitled horror movie will be like but many people are hoping that it's an adaptation of the PS4-exclusive game Bloodborne since the teases he did had symbols that looked similar to the some of the in-game messages.
While it's doubtful that Gunn directed the project, there's a good chance that he either wrote or helped produce the movie. That doesn't mean it will be Bloodborne or Berserk, a fairly popular manga that has multiple anime adaptations that have garnered mixed reactions, so we will have to wait and see.
Fans might be too familiar with his Guardians of the Galaxy work but Gunn is fairly familiar with dark stories and horror. Super was a ridiculously dark superhero movie while Slither was a cult classic from the director.
Expect more news from this James Gunn horror movie soon.
