James Gunn To Begin Working On Guardians of The Galaxy 3 After Some Downtime

James Gunn is really loyal to Marvel's Star Lord and his growing gang of space-thugs-turned-heroes.

The Marvel director's been with the Guardians through and through, helming the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie and then its sequel. Right before most of the world could see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Gunn excitedly announced that he'd be coming back to direct the third film of the superhero space romp series.

Now, speaking in an interview with Screen Rant, the Hollywood screenwriter and director reveals when he'll start work on the third film in his Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy.

"I have a little work to do on Infinity War, but I'll be going straight into it. For a while, it becomes more like a regular job, which is really good. You know, for the past year or so, or more, it's been seven days a week, all the time working on this movie, and so for a little while I'll be able to have some downtime, and do a couple trips and see, you know, see the world a little bit, but also work."

Though some fans were probably expecting Gunn to go ahead and say that he'd work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 straight away, the Marvel director shouldn't burn himself out. After delivering two great films for his band of cosmic superheroes (early screening reactions were more than positive), Gunn needs to have a well-deserved time off for himself.

For now let's all buckle up and get ready to enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which hits cinemas next, next week on May 5, 2017.
