James Gunn Hints At Character Death In GOTG Vol. 3

All good things must come to an end. Marvel fans might have fallen in love with the Guardians ever since the loveable group of space misfits was introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1, but the film franchise is coming to an end soon with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and it looks like director James Gunn is teasing character death in the movie.

Sure, Gunn might be busy working on DC's The Suicide Squad movie, but that doesn't mean that the director's forgotten all about the final chapter in his Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Addressing fans during a question and answer session on Instagram (via Digital Spy), a follower decided to ask Gunn whether fans would see someone die in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The director was careful not to spoil his plans for the film, going around the question by reminding fans that death wasn't an entirely new thing in the comic book genre.

"I can't remember ANY comic book film where someone didn't die," the filmmaker responded in his Instagram stories.

Looks like one or two or more Guardians are going to go in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – which shouldn't come as a surprise considering how heartbreaking the second installment was with the death of Yondu (Michael Rooker). Besides, the current iteration of the Guardians is going to be changed out after GOTG Vol.3, so we're going to see other heroes take Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), Drax (Dave Bautista) and Mantis (Pom Klemientieff) place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has yet to receive a release date but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
