Say what you will about the Star Wars universe as a whole but over the course of its existence, the franchise has produced some of the greatest and most compelling science-fiction films quite possibly of all time. But for every Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and The Mandalorian, there are some projects that fans don't seem to talk about that much and if you'd ask Marvel and DC director James Gunn, he thinks this beloved flick is the most "underrated" thing the franchise has put out.
Taking to Twitter following the wake of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story becoming a hot trending topic on the social media platform, the Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad filmmaker boldly claimed that the 2016 prequel project led by Felicity Jones and Diego Luna is the most underappreciated out of all Star Wars-related projects the production company has released and that clearly says a lot.

Despite earning over $1 billion at the global box office, casual fans of the Star Wars franchise rarely talk about the critically-acclaimed flick which eventually resulted in Rogue One receiving the "underrated" stamp. Now, Lucasfilm is set to revisit the series in the upcoming Andor series which serves as a prequel to the said film.
Speaking of, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is available for streaming on Disney+.
