James Gunn Admits There “Are Always” Discussions For A Guardians Spinoff With Sylvester Stallone/Michael Rosenbaum

Sylvester Stallong and Michael Rosenbaum first debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as some of the original Guardians in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and while most fans are seeing to see more the of them in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, director James Gunn is hoping to give the two their own spinoff.

Speaking in an interview with Collider, the cosmic Marvel director finally confessed that he had already talked with Marvel a number of times about his plans for Stallone and Rosenbaum's Ravagers and that he was hoping to create a film focused on them.

"There's always discussion with Ravagers," Gunn revealed during the interview, saying that he wouldn't title the spinoff Guardians or Guardians 3000.

Instead, Gunn says that he'd call it The Ravagers.

While Marvel's slate currently seems pretty full, the director says that "there's always a possibility" of making the Ravagers, saying that "I would be excited about it."

Lucky for Gunn, he isn't the only one interested in the project. Rosenbaum has already expressed interest in working on future Marvel Cosmic movies before, so the director already has Martinex down pat.

The only question now is when The Ravagers will happen. Gunn is now working on the screenplay for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a film set after Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. Could The Ravagers take part in the future Marvel Cosmic Universe? Sounds likely.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 gets digitally released next Tuesday, August 8 and its Blu-Ray/DVD release on August 22.
