It Sequel Could Focus On The Origin Of Pennywise

It will be hitting theaters this week, and the film has gotten plenty of attention. This is somewhat expected, since the original mini-series that showed in the 80's is considered iconic by many horror fans. A sequel is expected to come out, taking place when the kids in the first film become adults, but it looks like Pennywise will get more development than expected.

An interview with Metro UK revealed that the sequel is in early development. If a sequel does happen, the director wants to focus more on the origin of Pennywise, something the original mini-series didn't delve into. Here is hoping they also ditch the part where he becomes a giant spider, but we can't be too sure of that.

Bill Skarsgard, the actor who will be portraying Pennywise in the It reboot, had this to say about the potential sequel:

I am attached to it but that's all I can say, we're in the early stages and I'm talking to Andy [Muschietti, the director] about it and figuring out what It will be. It's a different story but I'm excited to delve in deeper to the character as there's more exploration for who Pennywise is.

A reboot of the Stephen King mini-series, It will start showing in theaters later this week on September 8. No release window for the possible sequel has been revealed.
