Is Captain America the Next Disney Attraction?

If there was ever a chance that you could play the role of a favorite Avenger, who would it be?

If you had answered Captain America, then there's a chance that this dream could come true—that's if a new patent listing from Disney pushes through.

The patent was filed for a physical rail that Disney park guests could attach to their forearm. There is also a shield that can be thrown, which will slide along the rail to lock into place at the end of the rail when the projectile is thrown

"Embodiments herein describe a throwing apparatus that includes a projectile that slides on a rail. In one example, as the user make a throwing action, the projectile slides along the rail and locks into place at an end of the rail. In response, the throwing apparatus launches a virtual object representing the projectile along a virtual path extending away from the throwing apparatus. The apparatus may include an emitter that transmits a signal indicative of the signal."

The summary of the launching apparatus is basically a description of how an attraction featuring Cap's most fluid movement—throwing his shield at an enemy's head—would look like if enacted in a park's safe environment.

Now this particular feature would be a nice one when paired with VR—as long as the shield projectile will be something of a virtual experience as well, to avoid any complications. And given how Guardians of the Galaxy has its own attraction, and an Avengers sighting has been found in Disney Parks, a ride that's made to let you be Cap isn't all that impossible.

We'll have to see if Disney will push through with this ride. It would be a good addition, especially if we'll be bidding goodbye to our good reliable Cap in the final Avengers movies.
