Injustice 2 Second Trailer & Art Complete the Picture, Teases Dark Knight’s Battle

In the second installment of Injustice 2's Shattered Alliances trailer, we see an almost upturning of the title itself. At the very heart of it all, it's that one statement at the beginning that sets up the premise of where Batman stands, presumably when the game releases.

"Bruce, consider widening your circle of trust. Nobody wins all by themselves. Not even you."

And as such, we see Batman rebuilding his team, starting with The Flash, who we all know wants to redeem what happened in the original movie. Green Lantern makes his move, too, putting the name of the Guardians first to win Batman's alliance. Harley Quinn, Black Canary, and Green Arrow have also made it clear whose side they're on.

More than that, we also see Dr. Fate in action—specifically against Superman. Then, there's the showdown once again between father and son, Batman and Damian Wayne. We also see The Flash and Reverse Flash in their own fight within the storyline.

Cyborg also appears to be on the side of the Regime, and from the looks of it, Green Lantern has put himself on the side that fights against the Regime. But the final face-off is still, obviously, between The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel. And it all boils down to the difference in their philosophies, given how Superman thinks that wasting a couple of lives is justification for the lives that will be spared.

As a bonus, developer NetherRealm Studios has revealed a new artwork for the game. This time, it's Batman in the middle of the fray. He's taking on Cyborg, Robin, a fighter with a beard, and possibly Aquaman since we can see the trident in the frame.

Injustice 2 is heading to the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16.
