Injustice 2 Mobile Game and Comic Confirmed Alongside Possible PC Port For Game

NetherRealm Studios is on a roll. And along with this comes confirmation that some fans of the Injustice 2 franchise have been waiting for.

While NetherRealm Studios Creative Head Ed Boon had teased some reveals for the roster at the San Diego Comic-Con, he also gave some bonus confirmations for other aspects of the franchise.

During an IGN live stream, Boon confirmed that there will "definitely" be an Injustice 2 mobile app. For those who aren't familiar, the 2013 original game Injustice Gods Among Us also had a mobile title game of the same name. Apart from bringing the predominantly brawl-fest to the mobile platform, it also served as a way for console and PC players to enjoy some exclusive skins and prizes for owning both versions.

Comic book fans will also be happy to know that an Injustice 2 comic book series will also debut for the game. This time, the series will be more of a prequel approach. Speaking at the Injustice 2 Comic-Con panel (via GameSpot), the developer confirmed that Tom Taylor will be coming back as the writer for the series.

Taylor is excited to once again have the opportunity to complete the story that traverses the game and the comic:

"There are a lot less ‘Gods Among Us' than when we started our story, but I hope to join Batman and the world's finest heroes in cleaning up the mess an evil Superman and his regime left behind. Prepare for tears, comedy, triumph, devastation, shocking tragic twists involving DC's most beloved characters… and Harley Quinn stealing every scene she's in."

The comic and mobile tie-in game are expected to debut in the same time as the release of Injustice 2. The game is expected sometime in 2017. Injustice 2 will arrive on the PS4 and Xbox One, with a possibility of a PC release hinted by the studio.
