Injustice 2 Gets a Prequel Comic Series as Registration Opens

It's a flurry of events for Injustice 2, the newest DC brawler game that continues the insane ride that Injustice: Gods Among Us brought us.

Following the cinematic trailer sneak peek, DC has now announced that a prequel comic will also arrive to tie-in with the franchise. Kotaku broke the news, stating that the new comics will bring back Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo to continue the story.

This is pretty big news considering how Injustice is a great story overall—one that DC would do well to consider in the cinematic universe, if I may add. For Injustice 2, the comics will look into the story five years after the game's conclusion with Superman's defeat.

"Working in the Injustice universe allows us to do so many things we're unable to do in any other comic, and I can't wait for fans to see what we have in store for Injustice 2."

That's not all there is to Injustice 2. NetherRealm Studios creative head has teased over Twitter an image of the Greek alphabet. And from the caption, it's pretty obvious what the answer is: beta.

Registration for the beta for Injustice 2 has finally opened. The page, accessible here, will ask for fans' names, email addresses, location, and the console they will be playing on. However, we don't know when exactly the beta will start or how one will be accepted.

The Injustice 2 prequel comic will arrive on April 11 as a weekly digital release, while the game will be available on the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16.

That Moogle Chocobo carnival event seems like a lot of fun.
