Injustice 2 Comic Creators Hint at Remaining Allies & Larger Suicide Squad

NetherRealm Studios will finally deliver the long-standing follow-up to its Injustice: Gods Among Us, dubbed Injustice 2. And while the game is still set up for a spring release, there will also be an ongoing comic series to complement the title.

The Injustice 2 comic will be written by Tom Taylor, the same guy responsible for writing most of the original tie-in comic as well. Taylor shares with GameSpot a little about where the story will pick up for Injustice 2, as well as the new and enduring characters that will affect the story.

Since Injustice 2 occurs right after the first game, we still see Superman and his regimes locked up in prison. Everyone else is trying to fix those that were lost or broken, despite a backdrop of a big threat in the distance, as we've seen in the game trailer.

However, from the looks of it, both Batman and Superman still have people on their sides. Without giving too much away, Taylor noted that readers will see if Superman is actually containable in a prison, given his strength and his allies still out there.

On the other hand, Bruce's Batman also has fighters on his side of the ring, the biggest one being Harley Quinn, who seeks revenge for his lost Mr. J. Taylor also hinted that newcomers to the game, Blue Beetle and Black Canary will be playing bigger roles this time as well.

In fact, the Suicide Squad in this game may even be a lot bigger than what fans have seen.

"After a familiar set-up, something happens early on that turns the very concept of the Suicide Squad on its head. This Suicide Squad is more formidable than anything we've seen before."

The Injustice 2 comic will be out on digital on April 11 and will hit stands on May 3.
