Injustice 2 Beta Dialogue May Hint at Supergirl’s Motive

NetherRealm Studios' upcoming fighting game Injustice 2 may bring forth a new kind of hero versus hero treatment thanks to the gears and power-ups. But there's also a lot more to the narrative beyond the fighting.

One point of interest is Supergirl's potential role in the sequel, one that may have been reportedly teased for those who were able to access the online beta. iDigital Times spotted a video containing some dialogues from the beta among the characters. And there's a big possibility that some may be pointing to a non-alliance—or is it multi-alliance?—of Supergirl in the game.

Supergirl is in the spotlight of Injustice 2 as her cousin remains behind bars and in chains. At first, our initial thought is that she's come to free Superman and protect him from those on earth, even the superheroes. It's strengthened by the initial contact between Supergirl and Batman, which feels a whole new level of hostile.

A new video has compiled the different clashes between the characters before the actual fight. The dialogue between Superman and Supergirl does suggest the need for Kara to fight off against her cousin. There's even these two dialogues that are very suggestive of a brewing Super Fight:

Supergirl: Kal you need to stop.
Superman: Are you gonna turn on me, too?
Supergirl: I'm gonna save you from yourself.
Supergirl: Kal you need to stop.
Superman: I'm the hero Earth needs.
Supergirl: That's not how it looks to me.

Kara also has some exchanges with Batman, some of which are interesting, to say the least:

Batman: That S used to give people hope.
Supergirl: Once I'm done, it will again.
Batman: Prove it to me.
Batman: I'm not Clark's enemy.
Supergirl: This sure is a funny way off showing it.
Batman: You haven't heard the whole story.
Supergirl: We don't have to fight, Batman.
Batman: I need to know what you can do.
Supergirl: Isn't there a better way to find out?

Is there some sort of teamwork behind that last dialogue? Why would Batman need to know what she can do—to see if she can face off against Superman? Of course, the other two dialogues hint that Supergirl still stands by his cousin's side.

Thoughts? Excited?
