Infinity War Writers on Which Marvel Characters Will Never Get a Movie

Thanks to films like Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy, fans believe that Marvel can make any movie they want. It doesn't matter which character will be getting the film treatment, as the current MCU formula has proven that any Marvel hero can make it to the big screen. Funnily enough, the writers of Avengers: Infinity War, a film many thought would be impossible, don't think that is the case.

Christopher Markus and Steven McFeely were asked by CBR if they felt there were any Marvel characters who would never make it to the big screen. Rather than give a straight answer, there is only one possible answer and a cautious suggestion to use a certain character wisely. The characters chosen by Markus and McFeely are Machine Man and Moon Knight.

"Literally, no one will ever do this — I say this, and then it'll be announced — I think Machine Man is hilarious. I like Moon Knight, but you have to handle Moon Knight in a very careful way, or he just becomes negative image Batman. But there are certain runs in the comics where you go, ‘That's crazy.'"

Machine Man is a pretty obscure character, so it makes sense that he might not get a solo film. That doesn't mean he's a joke though since he is one of the few characters to get artistic runs from both Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. He was also one of the best parts of Nextwave, one of the funniest Marvel comics ever made.

As for Moon Knight, there have already been several reports of the character possibly getting a film, though some fans would rather see him in a Netflix series. They also mention Namor because his movie rights are a whole other complicated matter.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27.
