Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor Go Back To Their Roots In Avengers: Back To Basics

With Infinity War coming out next year, Marvel fans have been feeling nostalgic about the MCU and its simple beginnings. To try and hype up the film, or perhaps just build excitement around the Avengers brand, Marvel has announced a new digital comic series called Avengers: Back to Basics. It will be written by comic veteran Peter David, responsible for hit books like X-Factor and Supergirl.

Described as a "perfect entry-point for newcomers," Back to Basics tells an interesting story that involves Ragnarok, the age-old Asgardian prophecy that was recently a Thor movie, coming to Earth. It will be up to Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, and more fan-favorite characters to stop this threat. No other Avengers have been revealed, so it will be interesting to see who joins this classic trio.

Chip Mosher, comiXology's Head of Content & Senior Director of Communications, had this to say about the digital series coming to Comixology:

"With buzz over the Avengers reaching a fever pitch, we're thrilled to help bring fans – new and old – a brand new Avengers story featuring Thor, The Hulk, Iron Man and other favorites sure to capture the imagination of all readers. And remember: each issue of Avengers: Back to Basics – just as with all other comiXology Originals series from Marvel – are free to read as part of the comiXology Unlimited subscription service!"

The first issue of Avengers: Back to Basics will be available in Comixology on March 7, 2018. It will be a six-issue miniseries. Each issue of Back to Basics will be $2.99, similar to Iron Fists, Thor vs Hulk, and Black Panther: Long Live the King.
