Hugh Jackman Wants this Actor to Replace Him as Wolverine

Hugh Jackman revealed yesterday that the script for his last appearance as Marvel Universe's Wolverine is almost done. Now, the 47-year-old actor is making recommendations once again about who he wants to replace him in the role.

Apparently, Jackman is considering his Eddie the Eagle co-star, Taron Egerton, to become the next Logan.

Jackman spoke with Yahoo recently to promote his latest movie, Eddie the Eagle. Naturally, the subject of his superhero role was brought up.

First he was asked about potentially playing Wolverine in a Deadpool sequel, since it's been rumoured that he'll be making a cameo in the one to be released this year.

Love it. It's just brilliant. I mean, I love Ryan, he's a good mate of mine. He's so fantastic.

Jackman added that he could take down Deadpool in a fight "a hundred percent."

Then he started name dropping Taron Egerton. He claimed that he can see the 26-year-old actor playing the superhero.

Jackman said:

I've never thought about it till now, but doing something with Ryan – he's awesome – that's always attractive to me. But I think you've probably got several other people lined up to play [Wolverine]… probably you [Taron Egerton]

As for Egerton's response, The Kingsman: Secret Service star said in jest that he doesn't think he has enough "facial hair for it."

Egerton isn't the only actor namedropped by Jackman to star in the role though. He also mentioned Tom Hardy as another potential Wolverine, according to Cosmic Book News.

Meanwhile, fans have also added Daniel Radcliffe into the list.

In my opinion, I don't see any of these actors replacing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine yet. I'm still trying to grapple the thought that he's not going to be the unbreakable mutant anymore. Hopefully, whoever replaces him will bring justice to the character like Hugh has done.
