How Tony Stark Can Return To The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) death in Avengers: Endgame broke so many hearts of Marvel fans. Iron Man sacrificed his life to save the universe from the hands of Thanos (Josh Brolin) and while it made perfect sense that the sacrificial role would be given to the hero that started the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it broke hearts all over.

Now, fans speculate Iron Man's return, hoping to see Tony Stark in some other Marvel movie after Endgame. Early rumors suggested that RDJ's vocals would be used for an AI voice in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but that never happened.

Fans haven't given up hope though. New theories suggest that Tony might appear in Marvel prequel films, like Scarlett Johansson's upcoming Black Widow standalone movie. Knowing that the movie is to happen sometime in the past, many speculate that RDJ would have many opportunities for an appearance.

Of course, there's still the question of whether the actor would want to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Endgame. RDJ may want to branch out and focus on other films. He might want to focus on the SherlockHolmes franchise – Warner Brothers just recently revealed that it had found a new director for Sherlock Holmes 3. Dexter Fletcher, the filmmaker in charge of Rocketman, has just been recently tapped for Sherlock Holmes 3.

Then again, RDJ has a fondness for the MCU. He'd probably be very willing to return for a cameo in a future Marvel movie.

Marvel's latest release, Spider-Man: Far From Home, is currently screening in cinemas.
