Hideo Kojima's 'Death Stranding' is Slightly Behind Schedule

Death Stranding, the highly-anticipated PS4 exclusive from Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, has been slightly delayed. This is news Kojima has confirmed during an interview with Japanese publication J-Wave (via Siliconera). The news would be more heartbreaking to fans if we knew what the game was about or if it even had a proper release date.

Sorry to sound negative, but this writer is still hoping that the game rocks our socks off and has the complexity and humor that everyone can expect from Kojima. Still, when you consider how its first gameplay trailer only had a ton of walking and some stealth, it's a bit of a reach to say that fans are sad over this slight delay.

It's worth noting that the delay is only slight and Kojima said the game isn't that down in development. Compare this to Nintendo having to restart development on Metroid Prime 4 and it looks fine in comparison. Once again, if there was more for us to sink our teeth into, this would be sad news. But it isn't.

That being said, it's easy to see why fans are hyped for this game. Free from the constraints of Konami, this is Kojima's first game since Metal Gear Solid V and could continue using some concepts that were supposed to appear in the now-canceled Silent Hills.

Death Stranding does not have a release date.
