Casting for any movie is always a big, tough decision. This is even more so when the movie in question is in the league of Deadpool 2, the sequel of the unexpected R-rated success that brought a different spin to superhero movies.

Now that the cast is expected to expand in the next film not only with Cable but also Domino, casting choices have been the next order of business for fan scrutiny. Newly revealed cast member Zazie Beetz has snagged the role, and many are wondering what made her the right choice for this decision.

Deadpool 2 writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick spoke to IGN to give us a bit of insight about their decision:

"There's this very wonderful alchemy that happens when an actor starts to read the lines that we came up with. She just really sparked, and it really just flew off the screen. I think that we now will be able to write with her voice in mind more, which always helps too."

That latter part is a very interesting part of the writing process, and one that any writer can understand. It's one thing to write with a voice that you have in mind—it's entirely different if you have someone acting it out. A good actor can only do so much to truly embody a role. But it's even better when it's written with that actor's voice in mind; case in point: the Merc in the Mouth actor himself.

Wernick also added that apart from this, Beetz was able to keep up with Ryan Reynolds during the read, a very important aspect of getting the role. I guess this assures us that Deadpool 2 will have some pretty good interactions between Deadpool and Domino that we should watch out for.

Deadpool 2 hasn't started filming yet, but it's expected for a theatrical release on 2018.
