Here’s the Reason Why James Gunn is the Best Guardians of the Galaxy Director

Directors with a vision will always beat out those who are focused on gimmicks or explosives. That's because vision takes narrative and flow as paramount when creating a movies—which is why movies with sequels, threequels, or even sagas work so well when they have a director with a vision.

This is exactly what James Gunn had the moment he signed up and sat on the director's chair of Guardians of the Galaxy. Gunn revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that his goal was to tell just one story that continues throughout the three GotG movies.

"I wouldn't have said yes if I didn't have a fairly clear idea of where we were going and what we were going to do. I'm not a guy that's just going to do it if I don't have a vision for it. So, I'm very excited."

He also touched on the fact that there will be a new set of Guardians coming, something that had already hinted at as well:

"I think really that the three movies work together as a whole, they're going to tell one story. This is the story of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and we're going to get to know the characters even better in the same way we got to know them much better in this film than the first one."

Sometimes, the trouble with threequels with just one director is that they can lose that fresh touch. But from the looks of it, this is far from Gunn's plan at all with his run of the GotG. Considering the hype that the sequel is getting from its early reviews, it would seem that Gunn still knows how to give a different spin, especially since we're seeing a lot of new faces and new relationships under the spotlight.
