Hayden Christensen and Partner Don’t Want Daughter To Know Her Dad Played Vader

Darth Vader may be one of the most iconic villains in pop culture history, however not everyone's too keen on having their kids learn about the Star Wars baddie. This includes the partner of the franchise's Anakin Skywalker star, Hayden Christensen.

Speaking in an interview with People, actress Rachel Bilson reveals how she and Christensen would rather much keep the Star Wars actor's role in the prequel films a secret from their daughter as long as possible. At two and half a year's age, Christensen and Bilson's daughter Briar Rose still has no idea that her father actually played Darth Vader.

"We'll probably avoid that for as long as possible.Especially because her dad is who he is. She might be like, ‘Oh no! Darth Vader's my dad!' No one's gonna mess with her on the playground."

After Revenge of the Sith hit cinemas back in 2005, Christensen hasn't been as involved in the franchise's fan events. While most of it is because of the criticism the Canadian actor received because of his portrayal of Anakin and because of the backlash against the prequel trilogy, Christensen's decision to keep his part in the franchise a secret from his daughter may be another reason why he's been keeping away.

Though Vader probably won't be making any appearances in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Sith Lord still has a strong influence over a few characters in the movie.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas on December 15, 2017.
