Hawkeye’s Role In Avengers: Infinity War Is A “Bit Of A Long Play”

Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye might have been consistently absent from Avengers: Infinity War's marketing campaign, but that doesn't mean that the Clint Barton's going to sit out the first installment in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie.

Speaking in an interview with Joe.ie about the secret characters that are set to appear in Infinity War, directors Joe and Anthony Russo both promise fans that while Hawkeye's been forced to keep out of the movie's promotional material, they haven't forgotten the character at all.

"We keep saying, ‘Patience is a virtue,'" Joe explained. "We did not forget the twice-nominated Jeremy Renner. We cooked up a story for him that is a little bit of a long play. Not a short play."

Joe's comment echoes the same sentiment that Anthony made earlier this month when he told interviewers that they had to wait, saying that "All will be explained when people see the movie. It's all tied into the story."

Though the director's answer doesn't directly give the number of scenes or minutes that Hawkeye will have in Infinity War, it certainly helps assure fans that Hawkeye has a role in the film. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what exactly that role is.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres April 27.
