Harry Potter's Privet Drive Is Now For Sale

The house used for the Privet Drive residence in the Harry Potter movies is now on sale, The EW reports. Privet Drive was the childhood home of Harry Potter himself, where he lived with his magic hating relatives the Dursley's. The most famous aspect of the house is the cupboard under the stairs, which serves as the mistreated Harry's pitiful bedroom for the first eleven years of his life.

Now you too can use the cupboard to terrorize people how you wish, if you're willing to shell out $475,000 pounds. That translates to about $621,110 in US dollars. The house is up for sale on Chancellors.co.uk.

The house is a detached three bedroom place with a master suite. The interiors notable don't look anything like the house in the movies. This house was actually only used in the first movie, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. After that, the movie staff just built their own set to use for Privet Drive scenes.

The house is also not, alas, actually located on 4 Privet Drive in Little Whinging, Surrey. It's at 12 Picket Post Close in Martin's Heron, at Bracknell in Berkshire. That's just outside of London.

So, do you know anyone who loves Harry Potter enough to purchase the set for the main character's abusive childhood home? If so, tell them to jump on this deal ASAP!
