The magical world of Harry Potter continues with author J.K. Rowling's upcoming new book, HarryPotter and the Cursed Child.

The book, which is a sequel to the original series, is an addition to the prequel to the trilogy, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

Scholastic made the announcement Wednesday of plans to publish a book version of HarryPotter and the Cursed Child, which was originally a play. The book will consist of the script's Special Rehearsed Edition. Apparently, it was stated in Pottermore that the Special Rehearsed Edition will be replaced by a Definitive Collector's Edition as the script changes as well.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the plot of the play was announced via a press release from Scholastic:

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.
As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.

Written by J.K. Rowling and Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts I & II will be released on July 31, which happens to be Harry's birthday.

For fans who can't wait for the book, an eBook version is available on Pottermore.com.

I must say that the plot sounds enticing. Ever since the first HP books were released, fans have awaited the release of each book installment eagerly. I am one of those readers. While my impatience might tempt me to go for the eBook version, turning the pages of a Harry Potter book with my own hands is, in my opinion, irreplaceable.

The idea of holding another Harry Potter book really sounds exciting and I can't wait to find out what possible new dark forces await Harry in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Could this mean the dawn of a new movie series? It's possible.
